About Me

Hello, my name is Alain Jourdan.

I am French!
I am fascinated with everything French! And I like to share my knowledge...
I have lived and worked in the UK since 1992, with two short spells in my home country since.

I am a former executive for a global group and now work as a self-employed tutor and translator in Bournemouth, on the South Coast of England.

Since 2005 I have helped local businesses increase their chances of international success. Having worked on both sides of the Channel, I have seen first-hand the damages which arise from misunderstandings and ineffective communication. I can also testify of the great opportunities that await you, especially if you will command a solid knowledge of the French language or communicate effectively and accurately.

Tutor:
I work in-house with corporate clients and with private clients. I offer language courses for set duration or on-going requirements. I also do Skype and/or telephone distance lessons.

Recent corporate clients include Sodexho, Field International Ltd, JP Morgan, Mott MacDonald, Oil Spill Response Ltd, Executives in Africa.

Translator:
I have worked on general projects and specific documents such as Vendor Due Diligence, Design Rules for Nuclear Islands, Construction Technical Papers, Architect's Brochures, Insurance Documents...

I specialise in Construction as I graduated in Civil and Building Engineering and worked in the construction industry for 7 years in a previous life.
